What Happens in Your First Wedding Dance Lesson?
Your first private lesson is a relaxed introduction focused on your song, goals, natural movement and the kind of first dance that feels right for you.
Your first wedding dance lesson is not an audition. It is a relaxed, private session where your instructor learns about you as a couple and helps you discover what feels comfortable.
We begin with your plans
You will talk about your wedding date, chosen song, venue, outfits and the impression you want to create. Some couples want a simple romantic dance; others want memorable musical moments, turns, dips or a surprise change of pace.
Then we see how you move together
Kristi will show you a comfortable dance position and a few easy movements. This is enough to understand how quickly you learn, what feels natural and which teaching approach will suit you. Absolute beginners are expected and welcome.
You leave with something useful
Even after one lesson, you should have practical movements to practise at home and a clearer idea of what your finished dance could become. If you continue, the routine is developed in manageable sections rather than presented as one intimidating block of choreography.
What should we bring?
Bring your song or a link to the exact version, comfortable clothing and secure shoes. Wedding shoes are useful later, but they are not necessary at the first lesson. Most importantly, arrive ready to learn together and have a laugh.
Private lessons are available on the Gold Coast, in Brisbane and via Zoom. Every session is one hour and tailored to your pace.
